Rebecca Wells (Senior Lecturer Health Services Research & Management) will be discussing City St George's Hybrid Education Community of Practice.
This is a forum where staff and students teaching and learning in hybrid mode come together to discuss best practice and support each other. The Community of Practice meets regularly and allows staff and students normally working in separate schools to learn from each other, discuss common problems and test innovative ideas and ways of working.
Hybrid teaching, where both in person and online students attend classes simultaneously, was introduced at City during the COVID pandemic, to make our teaching more inclusive in a time of social distancing. Under the ISLA (Inclusive Synchronous Learning Activities) project, 25 hybrid enabled rooms were installed at City. Now there are 56 ISLA spaces and there were at least 1,190 hours of scheduled ISLA activities during 2023/4. Hybrid teaching goes on in most schools
